My dream was a nightmare. I said good-bye to advertising & marketing and hello to real estate. Hello to my family. Hello to happiness. It’s nice to meet you!
A career in advertising & marketing took me to the South, the East Coast and back to the Midwest. Whether it was sports marketing, business-to-business or business-to-consumer marketing, I was living my dream. Creating and executing comprehensive strategies to grow businesses. I worked for companies, like the Senior PGA Tour, the USGA, the Indianapolis Star, Bee Window, Jiffy Lube of Indiana and the largest automotive group in the state of Indiana.

Married with two children, I was living my dream, except I was miserable. I was stretched incredibly thin, trying to be the best mom, wife and employee. A high-profile, c-suite job in a very competitive industry demands lots of attention and comes with a high level of stress. My job was my number one priority.
I sent my children to school in the morning, to after-school care in the afternoon and I had a nanny to manage them in the evening. It hit me. I was blessed with children, but I wasn’t the mom I wanted to be. Other people were raising my kids. Something had to change. After 25+ years in advertising & marketing, I retired in the spring of 2017.

I had been curious about a career in real estate for a long time, but I was scared to take the leap of faith. I thought it would provide me the flexibility I needed to be with my family, but I had no idea how rewarding it would be.
I was intentional about how I grew my real estate business. I saw other agents achieve success quickly, working every open house they could on the weekends. I didn’t do that. My kids were traveling for soccer, and I wanted to be at their games, so I structured my business accordingly. I didn’t want to repeat the mistakes of my past career.

Initially, my focus was on learning the trade and doing the job well. I learned the procedures and contracts, attended every training available and created systems to manage my transactions. I created helpful materials for my clients, including buyer and seller guides, and detailed explanations of the buying and selling process that are easily accessible on my website. I leaned into my marketing and negotiation experience, which led to great results for my clients. My business grew organically with referrals and repeat clients.
And now, many years later, I’ve reached a new chapter. My children are grown and while they are still at home, they don’t need me as much. I still attend all of their activities, but my capacity to focus on my business has grown. I am achieving great results for my clients and making a positive impact in the community, which has created much more happiness in my life.

I love helping my clients define what success means to them and guiding them on the journey to achieve their real estate goals. My mission is rarely just about a house. More often, it encompasses the lifestyle my clients want to live, their financial goals, and the evolving needs of their family. Together, we create a plan, and I help them successfully cross the finish line.
Outside of work, I’m still a soccer mom through and through. When I'm not traveling with my kids, I enjoy going to the family lake house in Indiana or the family fishing cabin in Canada. I love being near the water and enjoying quality time with my family. I also serve on the board of directors for the Century 21 Scheetz Foundation, helping raise funds to support local families facing housing instability. Giving back to our community feels so good!

Buying my first house is never far from my mind. I experienced so much uncertainty and stress, because I didn’t understand how the process worked, what the contracts really meant, or what was happening behind the scenes. Every time the phone rang, I worried someone was calling to tell me I couldn’t buy the house. Now I realize so much of that stress came from a complete lack of communication from my Realtor.

That’s why I focus on making sure my clients understand what is happening at every stage of the process. Before we even begin, I help you understand timelines, terminology, and potential turmoil. And as we move through the process, I outline what your options are so you can make an informed decisoin. I also help explain the contracts to ensure you know exactly what you are signing. Knowledge is power, and when you are dealing with the biggest investment of your life, it is crucial to a successful and enjoyable experience.
I’m still passionate about advertising and marketing. I love applying my executive experience to help sellers showcase the unique features of their homes in a way that helps them achieve their real estate goals. I coordinate everything from professional photography and video to strategic pricing, thoughtful staging guidance, and hands-on preparation before we ever go live. I treat every listing the same, whether it’s an investment property or a luxury home, because presentation and exposure directly impact my sellers’ results.
From the first time we meet to closing day and beyond, I provide a concierge-level experience focused on communication, preparation, and strong execution. Your happiness is guaranteed!
Sincerely,

Lisa Masariu-McCoy
